In Greek mythology, the Phoenix was a bird with great beauty, splendor and longevity. The legend tells us that the Phoenix lived for five hundred years and then retreated to make a nest where she would die. She made a nest of aromatic twigs that would burn from the heat of its own body. The Phoenix is said to rise from its own ashes.
It comes alive though the transforming power of fire and it lives again in full splendor. In the Middle Ages, the Phoenix was often used as a symbol for Christ, as he resurrected.
This legendary bird is an archetypal dream symbol that brings us positive and powerful images of rebirth. If you dream of the Phoenix, it is most likely that you are receiving message from the unconscious that are telling you that new life and new beginnings are always possible. This bird is a reminder that we have internal powers of regeneration and that we have the power to change things for the better.
As you are interpreting this dream, try to visualize a great bird rising up from fire and ash. It is a powerful image, whether produced by a dream or visualization.

I dream of the same, phoenix flying so high I was in a depressive stage of my life then, suddenly after I dreamt of this I found myself changing for the better. Free.. And capable of everything.
ReplyDeleteEarly, this morning I saw a vision with my eyes closed, whereas I had just awakened, but desired to return to my sleep. Not ready to go at my day I laid there with my eyes closed hoping to fall back into my sleep. Surprisingly, at 9:30 a.m., I saw a bring orange colored sizable bird flying from a particular tree upwards towards the north. It was so bright with the look of a gentle blazing fire. Truthfully, I know my birds that frequent the backyard, but this bird was four times the size of the average birds that visits. Never in my life have I ever seen a completely bright orange bird.
DeleteOn June 2, 2013 I found a baby dove sitting at my front door as if it were waiting for me. I took it in of course and fed it and am raising it. Last night about 2 a.m. I woke up to flickering yellow and orange lights on the bird cage. I thought for a moment how lovely it was, then thought it might be the reflection of a fire. Immediately I turned and got out of bed only to see a large yellow and orange flickering Phoenix bird standing by my night stand. I wondered in awe at it's beauty then my brain kicked in and said, "wait...you're not supposed to be here" and I turned on the light by my bed. It lingered a moment then slowly vanished. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
ReplyDeletelast night I dreamed that the object of my affection was a beautiful tropical bird. As he was flying he fell to the ground. A coworker to me I was the only one who could save him. I asked how, I was human. She said "you'd be surprised what ur capable of" by this time a crowd was all around him in awe. I leaped from the ground and fell back down. I went on top of a building to try and there my co-worker was too but now she was a colorful bird too. I closed my eyes and jumped. I turned into a Phoenix. I was so beautiful! I swooped down and scooped him up put Him someplace safe and then I flew off. I woke up feeling empowered!
